Hi Guys! In this week’s post I thought I’d share with you my favourites for this month. Give you a little bit more insight into who I am and what not! So keep reading and leave comments!
Brunch is Bae
As depressing as it is to say out loud, I am no longer a spring chicken. I am closer to 30 than I am 20 and I have to accept that I can’t go out all night and then roll into work the next day and be fine. This my friends is why brunch is bae. Number one, there’s usually avo with poached eggs and two, most of the time its bottomless and you can do it in the middle of the day – no late nights required!
One place in particular that absolutely have to recommend is 155 Bar and Kitchen in Farringdon. Technically I am cheating a little bit here because I visited in April for my birthday but you know, I wasn’t blogging then so I reckon I can get a pass for that lol.
Being the interiors nerd that I am, I love to visit restaurants that are aesthetically beautiful as well as those that serve yummy food. For me 155 Bar & Kitchen ticks all the boxes, the interiors were stunning, the food was amazing and my glass was never empty. Sign of a good brunch if you ask me!
Just off the lounge there is also a little retail space with stunning pieces of clothing and also some gorgeous home décor items – I spotted a rug which took my breath away and stopped me right in my tracks!
All I can say is that whilst I am reluctantly accepting my adult-ish status, catching up with the girls over good food and drink in the daytime (!) is certainly making the transition smoother.
I’ve recently rediscovered my love of a good pair of trousers. As a particularly curvy lady I have a love hate relationship with them. Nothing quite fills my heart with dread like having to try on a pair of trousers because let’s face it the most high street shops do not cater to ladies with a little junk in the trunk. That being said however I have noticed a rise in nice tailored trousers with a little elastic in the waist, or funky flares made from a stretchier fabrics.
Below are a couple of my favourite trousers out there right now so check em out!
I am by no means a MUA, I tend to leave the face slaying to my sister who is an actual MUA and a damn good one at that. I do love makeup however and I love trying new products. This month I love, love, love the Carli Bybel BH Cosmetics pallette. Being on this side of the pond means we get the stateside products a little later but nevertheless I find myself reaching for it more than I do my other palettes. It has fast become one of my favourites not only because the shadows are super pigmented but the colours are brown girl friendly and the highlight colours don’t leave you looking crazy.
I would definitely recommend and luckily it is available to purchase on beauty bay.
If haven’t been living under a rock this month you will have heard that Love Island is back! The excitement is all too real and I can barely contain myself. I live for the drama and I genuinely cannot wait to watch it every evening at 9pm and then have a catch-up with the girls at work.
Unfortunately, it’s does get a bit of a bad rap sometimes but I feel like it honestly teaches you some pretty good life lessons.
Number one, Be a Grafter.
Like Chris you have to graft for the things you want. Work smart and consistently and you will see the benefits.
Number two, Don’t be a melt.
Melts are miserable bastards and no one wants to be around someone who is constantly in their feelings. Lighten up! Don’t take yourself too seriously.
Finally, Number 3. Don’t put all your eggs all in one basket
Not speaking in terms of dating as per the show, this means always be open to exploring and trying new things. You’ll never know what’s out there until you put yourself out there!
All in all don’t mug yourself off and be the best you!
Those are my June Favs guys! It’s a bit of a mish mash but in general that is how my brain works lol! Let me know what you are loving right now x
